Family Thanksgiving
Two years ago, Ben decided that we should have the all-American, old-time, have the entire family at the farm Thanksgiving. It was a great event, but with 20+ people and a ton of little kids, it’s something we will probably put on the ‘once-a-decade’ schedule. A year later we were still finding play-doh in odd places around the house.

So this year we had a smaller get together. My mom came from Cleveland, one of my aunts from Maryland, and my brother and his family from Kansas. A perfect sized gathering, but Ben still cooked for the 20+ crowd. We just finished all the leftovers this past week!

Thursday morning I took my mom and aunt to the Blessing of the Hunt at Grace Episcopal Church in Keswick. This is a grand Virginia tradition at one of the oldest parishes in the country.

On Friday it was time to introduce the next generation of the family to the Andalusian and Lusitano. The “Moo-Cow” (Plumon M8) took care of the newcomers as nephew Ethan (4 years old), niece Brie (14 years old), brother David, and aunt Mary all took turns around the arena. Then Ben decided that today was the day for his biennial horse ride, and even did a little trot work on Plumon!

Brie was such a natural that we decided Puff (Saphiro) needed a little post-Thanksgiving exercise as well. So Brie had a ride on Puff then led her little brother Ethan around on him as well! You can see more Saphiro photos on our website. We just updated Saphiro’s photo page!

We have been working hard on keeping our website updated. Please visit us if you haven’t been. We have recently updated Saphiro’s pages by adding a pedigree and offspring page. Espiritu has some new photos and our sales list is being updated regularly. We always welcome your feedback.
