Fandango del Sol x Elena VII

PRE Spanish colt (eligible for ANCCE inscription)

Both parents carry black (EE Aa x EE Aa Gg), so Shane could carry black as well.
Currently shedding out black with no signs of greying at this time.

"Shane" is a very special boy. Elena was in labor for several days (mother nature trying her best to resolve a problem). Several vet visits and no resulting foal, shane finally arrived. With both a head and leg deflected backwards at birth, he was a very difficult delivery, his contracted legs made it even more difficult and very tough on all of us, especially mom. Most foals this contracted are rarely born alive as they are near impossible to deliver. We got him out and aren't we glad we did!! What a special miracle foal he has been. At birth, Shane could not stand, his bones had grown faster than his tendons in-utero and his legs did not straighten past a 90 degree angle, diagnosed as strictly tendon related, this was not a congenital deformity. He was botlle fed and assisted around the clock. Oxtet. helped soften his tendons. He spent several days at Woodside Equine Clinic and is named for the attending Veterinarian Dr. Shane Dewitt who was instrumental in his recovery. We are happy to announce that Shane's legs look perfect, no surgery or splints were needed, just an amazing team that didn't give up on him.
